Although I’d add Anchor Links as a point search marketers may ignore, I’ve seen some crazy link building projects but they’re using tonnes of different anchor texts, thus diluting the impact of the campaign. Also, what pages people link to, a lot of people build a campaign around their homepage but ignore the more tailored specific deep links they have.
I can’t believe after all the advice that people stay away from using automated scripts for link building, people still use it.

I find that link building is one area of web marketing that I really enjoy! It’s a very interesting and exciting area, learning how to increase backlinks, gain PR and Alexa, and many other nifty features for your blogs or websites!
I can vouch for the importance of getting quality on theme links for boosting ranking, I have many sites, some with 1000s of links and some with 20-30 high quality links ~ guess which ones do better in SERPs? they both do, but it really only takes half the time to build quality themed links!
